Mozzarella, basil, and tomato appetizer

Drizzle the olive oil on a platter and sprinkle the oil with salt and pepper. Place mozzarella balls (or slices if you use a mozzarella log) on the oil, turning them gently so they get covered in the oil. Place basil leaves on top, then tomato halves. Stick toothpicks in the top of the tomatoes all the way through the bottom of the mozzarella balls to hold everything together. Have some napkins handy, as it will be drippy. Not best for fancy hors d'oeuvres parties, but makes a great afternoon snack. 

Ingredients (for two people):

- one container of fresh mozzarella balls or one fresh mozzarella log
- about 10 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
- one bunch of fresh basil
- sea salt and pepper to taste

- 2 TBSP olive oil 

- olives (optional)
